Cephaloleia crenulata
Cephaloleia crenulata is a small leaf beetle from Ecuador. Adult beetles are about 3.9 mm long and have a yellowish‑brown color. Their antennae show a specific pattern: the first segment is yellowish‑brown, segments 2–10 are darker, and segment 11 is dark at the base and paler toward the tip. The name crenulata comes from Latin, meaning minutely emarginate, and refers to a tiny notch along the edge of the pronotum (the shield behind the head). It belongs to the leaf beetle family Chrysomelidae, in the genus Cephaloleia. Classification: Animalia; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Polyphaga; Cucujiformia; Chrysomelidae; Cephaloleia crenulata. Described in 2014 by Staines.
