Kathleen Josephine Hindle (born Kathleen Patterson) was a Scottish chess player born on 5 October 1948 in Glasgow. She died on 22 February 2025 in Norfolk, England. She married English chess master Owen Hindle in 1968.

As a player, Hindle was one of Scotland's strongest female chess players from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. She won the Glasgow Girls' Chess Championship in 1965 and 1966. In 1966 she also won the Scottish Girls' Championship in Dundee, and in 1967 she won the British Under-18 Girls' Championship. She shared first place in the Scottish Women's Chess Championship twice: in 1975 (with Muriel Leask) and in 1979. She represented Scotland in the Women's Chess Olympiads.
