Whiptail conger (Rhynchoconger gracilior) is a deep-water conger eel of the western Atlantic, from the northern Gulf of Mexico to northern South America. It lives about 203 meters (666 feet) below the surface and can reach up to 61 cm (24 inches) in length. The species was described by Isaac Ginsburg in 1951 and was originally named Congrina gracilior. In Cuba it is sometimes called the conger eel. Its conservation status is Least Concern.
