Izquierda Mirandesa
Izquierda Mirandesa (IM) is a small Spanish political party from Miranda de Ebro, Burgos. It is led by Conchi Salazar and was founded in 1983 as a merger of a local section of the Workers' Party. The party promotes revolutionary socialism and Basque nationalism, including ideas from the Abertzale left, Basque independence, feminism, and ecosocialism.
IM believes Miranda de Ebro should be part of Álava and Euskadi, even though the city is in Burgos province. Its headquarters are at C/Los Hornos nº 30, 09200, Miranda de Ebro.
In 2007, IM did not participate in the local elections in Miranda de Ebro, but advised residents in areas where Basque Nationalist Action (ANV) would run to vote for ANV. In 2015, the party won one town council seat as part of the Ganemos Miranda coalition, which received 6.16% of the vote. In subsequent elections, IM lost its representation.
