Michael D. Biddiss
Michael Denis Biddiss, born in 1942, is emeritus professor of history at the University of Reading. He specializes in the history of racist ideology and the history of medicine.
He studied at St Joseph's Academy, Blackheath, and at Queens' College, Cambridge, where he earned a first in Part II of the History Tripos in 1964. He was a fellow of Downing College, Cambridge.
He has been a professor of history at the University of Reading since 1979 and became emeritus in 2004. He served as dean of letters and social sciences from 1982 to 1985. He was president of the Historical Association from 1991 to 1994.
