West Michigan Firewomen
West Michigan Firewomen was an American women’s soccer team based in Jenison, Michigan. Founded in 2004, they played in the United Soccer Leagues W-League, the second level of women’s soccer in the United States and Canada. They were in the Midwest Division of the Central Conference, facing teams such as Chicago, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Kalamazoo Outrage, Medina, and Minneapolis. Home games were played at the stadium on the campus of Jenison High School, about nine miles southwest of downtown Grand Rapids. The team wore red and white colors. They were the sister club of Chicago Fire Premier (a USL PDL team) and affiliated with the Chicago Fire MLS team. West Michigan Firewomen folded after the 2009 season.
