Werewords
Werewords is a quick party board game for 4–10 players, designed by Ted Alspach and published by Bézier Games in 2017. It takes about 2 minutes to set up and about 10 minutes to play. In the game, players have secret roles (Villagers or Werewolves) and try to discover a secret word by asking questions to the Mayor. The Werewolves try to mislead the group. The Seer is a special Villager who knows the word but should keep it subtle; if the word is guessed, the Werewolves win.
The game uses Werewolf-style themes (Ultimate Werewolf) and there is a smartphone app that provides the words. A Deluxe edition was funded on Kickstarter in 2018 with about 2,400 backers and around $100,000 raised. Werewords was nominated for the 2017 Golden Geek Best Party Game. The German version, Werwörter, was nominated for the 2019 Spiel des Jahres.
