Season's Greetings from Perry Como is a Christmas album by Perry Como, released in October 1959 on RCA Victor. It was Como’s sixth RCA Victor 12-inch LP and his first major full-length Christmas album, recorded in stereo. The sessions took place July 13–15, 1959, and the record was produced by Charles Grean and Lee Schapiro. Mitchell Ayres conducted the orchestra, with the Ray Charles Singers providing backup vocals. The album has a warm, relaxed feel and features classic holiday tunes, including a re-recording of Como’s 1954 hit Home for the Holidays. It helped establish Como as a prominent Christmas performer.
Reception and chart performance
- The album reached No. 22 on the Billboard Top LPs chart in 1960.
- It also charted at No. 27 in 1961 and reached No. 33 and No. 74 in 1962.
- It reappeared on the charts at No. 110 in 2021.
