Wayne Tyrone Housie (born May 20, 1965) is a former American Major League Baseball outfielder. A switch-hitter who threw right-handed, he stood 5'9" and weighed 165 pounds. Born in Hampton, Virginia, Housie was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the eighth round of the January 1986 draft and spent four seasons in their minor leagues, hitting .245 with nine home runs and 141 RBIs. After being released in 1990, he played for the Salinas Spurs, where his strong performance helped him get signed by the Boston Red Sox on August 2, 1990.

Housie reached the majors with Boston in 1991. He made his MLB debut on September 17 as a pinch runner, and got his first at-bat on September 27, 1991, a pinch-hit single that scored a run. He finished the 1991 season with the Red Sox batting 2-for-8. He stayed in their system through 1992, then signed a minor league deal with the New York Mets. In 1993 he was called up by the Mets, and in his first at-bat as a Met he singled and scored on Tony Fernández’s triple; his only RBI came on May 14 against the Expos. After 18 games with the Mets, he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for pitcher Josias Manzanillo. In the Brewers’ organization, he batted .274 with seven RBIs for the New Orleans Zephyrs.

Housie returned to the Red Sox organization in 1994 and split the 1995 season between the Mexican League and the Western Baseball League before retiring. In his two-season MLB career, he played 29 games, hit .208 (5-for-24) with two doubles and no home runs, scored four runs, and had one RBI and one stolen base. In the outfield, he made six appearances (four in center, two in right) with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, and he also appeared as a designated hitter in two games.
