WMWM was a non-commercial radio station at 91.7 FM in Salem, Massachusetts, owned by Salem State University. It began as WSSC AM 640 in 1968 as a carrier-current station and switched to FM in 1976, becoming WMWM with a 10-watt signal. The power was increased to 130 watts in 1980. The station aired alternative rock and specialty shows, and when no live DJ was available, it ran 24 hours a day using computerized automation. WMWM went silent in February 2025 after a transmitter malfunction, and Salem State surrendered the license in August 2025, ending the station’s run.
