WHMC-FM (90.1 FM) is a public radio station licensed to Conway, South Carolina, serving the Grand Strand and Myrtle Beach area. It is owned by the South Carolina Educational Television Commission and is part of South Carolina Public Radio’s all-news network. WHMC-FM airs a talk radio format with some jazz and weekend music programs, and is an NPR member. The station signed on in 1981 and originally played classical music most of the time, but in 2005 it shifted to provide more NPR news programming for the Grand Strand.
