“Billy (I Always Dream of Bill)” is a popular song from 1911 with words by Joe Goodwin and music by James Kendis and Herman Paley. Ada Jones recorded an early version in 1911. Betty Grable performed the song in the 1950 film Wabash Avenue. The best-known version was recorded by Kathy Linden in 1958. Linden’s recording, with the Joe Leahy Orchestra, reached No. 7 on the Billboard pop chart and was included on her album That Certain Boy. The single, released on Felsted Records (catalog 8510), lasts 1:55 and has a B-side titled “If I Could Hold You in My Arms.” It also ranked No. 90 on Billboard’s Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1958.
