Rotella is a small municipality in central Italy, in the Marche region and the Province of Ascoli Piceno. It sits about 70 kilometers south of Ancona and 11 kilometers north of Ascoli Piceno, at an elevation of 395 meters. The area is 27.2 square kilometers and the population was 985 in 2005. The town includes the subdivisions Castel di Croce, Capradosso, and Poggio Canoso. It borders Ascoli Piceno, Castignano, Force, Montedinove, Montelparo, and Venarotta. The residents are called Rotellesi. The mayor is Domenico Gentili. The postal code is 63030 and the area code is 0736. The patron saint is Lawrence of Rome, celebrated on August 10.
