Rudolf Jäger (30 August 1875 – 22 January 1948) was a German opera tenor and voice teacher. He was born in Dresden, the son of a master locksmith. He studied law briefly before turning to music, training at the Dresden Music School with Richard Müller. Jäger began his stage career with the Hofbühne Dresden in 1898 and made his debut in 1899 as the Helmsman in Der fliegende Holländer. In 1899 he sang at the Grillo-Theater in Essen but soon returned to Dresden, where he worked until 1908. Notably, he sang Narraboth in the world premiere of Richard Strauss's Salome in Dresden in December 1905. He joined the Leipzig Opera in 1908 and stayed there until 1925. Health problems forced him to retire from the stage in 1925, after which he taught singing in Dresden. From 1945 he lived in Leipzig and died there in 1948 at the age of 72.
