Vignazza Tower
Vignazza Tower, also known as Torre Vignazza, is a 16th‑century coastal watchtower in Giardini Naxos, Sicily. Built in 1544, this three‑story square tower watched the coast from Cape Schisò toward Port Schisò to protect against Barbary raiders led by Barbarossa Kheir-ed-Din. When a ship was seen, the guardian sent smoke signals to warn nearby villagers and other towers. It is one of many watchtowers along the Sicilian coast. The tower sits in the Recanati area and is part of the archaeological park. Today it is in good condition, and its interior is occasionally used for exhibitions and performances.
