Fatou Kiné Diakhaté
Fatou Kiné Diakhaté is a Senegalese economist and politician. A member of the PASTEF party, she has served as deputy chief of staff to the President since 12 May 2024, the first woman to hold that role. She works with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and assists the president’s advisor, Professor Mary Teuw Niane. She is also the deputy national secretary for the diaspora in Pastef’s Political Bureau.
Education: Diakhaté studied at Sorbonne University Paris Nord and Paris 8 Vincennes–Saint-Denis, after an initial science-focused baccalaureate and a two-year tech program in finance, insurance, and banking at ICOGES Paris. She earned an undergraduate professional qualification in finance, insurance, and banking, and a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance. She completed graduate studies with a Master 1 in international economics and regulation and a Master 2 in finance with a focus on banking risk management.
Career: She began as a client advisor at Societe Generale and Banque Postale, then worked as a middle office manager in securitization at Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank. She later joined the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in Paris, where she held roles including financial assistance management, quality manager in the Financial Management of Competitions (GFC) department, and financial innovation mission manager. She joined the PASTEF party in 2018.
