Vera Ilyina

Vera Sergeyevna Ilyina (born 20 February 1974 in Moscow) is a Russian diver who competed in four Olympic Games (1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004). She won the Olympic gold medal in Sydney 2000 in the 3-meter synchronized springboard with partner Yuliya Pakhalina. Her career also included World Championships in Rome (1994) and Barcelona (2003) in springboard events, and European Championships where she competed in various 1 m and 3 m events, representing the Soviet Union in 1991 and Russia from the 1990s onward. She was born in Moscow and now lives in Houston, United States.
