Alan Jacobs (academic)
Alan Jacobs (born August 28, 1958) is an American scholar of English literature and a literary critic. He is a distinguished professor of the humanities in the honors program at Baylor University. He earned a BA from the University of Alabama in 1980 and a PhD from the University of Virginia in 1987. He was the Clyde S. Kilby chair professor of English at Wheaton College in Illinois until 2012, when he joined Baylor as a distinguished professor of humanities in the honors program. Jacobs writes for The Atlantic, First Things, and The New Atlantis. He is an evangelical Anglican. His work is also shared on his website ayjay.org.
