The University Club of Milwaukee is a private club located at 924 E. Wells Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was founded by 19 college alumni and received its charter on November 7, 1898, with August H. Vogel as its first president. The club first met in a small house at 508 Jackson Street. In 1928, it moved to a new clubhouse designed by John Russell Pope at the corner of Wells and Prospect Streets overlooking Lake Michigan. In 2007, the nearby University Club Tower, a luxury condo tower, was built. The 36-story, 446-foot-tall tower is the tallest residential building in Milwaukee and the fourth tallest in Wisconsin. The tower includes a health club that serves both residents and the University Club members.
