United States Army Correctional Brigade
The United States Army Correctional Brigade is a prison program that helps inmates prepare for life after release, either as productive citizens or, in some cases, to return to military service. Before October 1, 1992, it was at Camp Funston. The program uses military discipline to maintain order for most inmates, rather than walls and bars. It combines a minimum-custody, disciplined environment with correctional treatment, educational programs, and military or vocational training to help first-time offenders lead crime-free lives after prison, whether as soldiers or civilians. It is described as less expensive to operate than a traditional prison.
