United Nations Security Council Resolution 1585 was adopted unanimously on 10 March 2005. It recalled earlier resolutions on the situation in Sudan and extended the mandate of the United Nations Advance Mission in Sudan (UNAMIS) for one week, until 17 March 2005, to allow for further discussions. The resolution signaled that the United Nations Mission in Sudan would be established within about two weeks.
