Mandy McElhinney
Mandy McElhinney (born 9 September 1970) is an Australian actress from Perth. She is best known for her AAMI insurance ads as Rhonda, for the comedy series Comedy Inc. (2003–2006), for playing Gina Rinehart in The House of Hancock (2015), and for leading the Australian Federal Police Counter-Terrorism Unit in Hyde & Seek (2016).
Born in Perth and raised in Leeman, she has a younger sister, Hayley, who is also an actress. As a child she was bullied for her red hair, which helped her become funny and entertaining. She studied drama and dance and attended Stella Maris Presentation College in Geraldton (now Nagle Catholic College). She married Carlo in Sicily on 28 December 2017.
Her work spans TV, film, and stage. She has appeared in MDA, Kath & Kim, and The Bank, and performed with the Melbourne and Sydney Theatre Companies. She played Matron Frances Bolton in Love Child, Margot Dafoe in Home and Away (2023), and Sugar in Tiny Beautiful Things at Belvoir St Theatre (2024). She was cast in Nugget Is Dead?: A Christmas Story (2024) and, in 2025, joined the Australian version of Ghosts as Eileen. In Howzat! Kerry Packer's War she played Rose, Kerry Packer's assistant, and she portrayed Nene King in Paper Giants: Magazine Wars.
