New York Se New Karachi (From New York to New Karachi) is a Pakistani romance and family drama TV series. It was written by Mohsin Ali and directed by Fahim Burney. The 18-episode show stars Azfar Rehman as Salman and Ainy Jaffri as Sara, and it was filmed in Karachi and New York City. It aired on TV One Pakistan, premiering on March 2, 2012.
The story follows Feroza and Kifayat, a couple who have lived in New York for many years. They come to New Karachi for a family wedding at Kifayat’s ancestral home. Feroza is proud and looks down on her Punjabi sister-in-law Razia. Meanwhile, their children Sara and Salman fall in love and want to marry. The series earned Azfar Rehman a nomination for Best Television Actor at the 14th Lux Style Awards.
