Union Township is one of nine townships in Crawford County, Indiana. It is located in Crawford County and covers 42.4 square miles (110 km2), all land, with an elevation of 551 feet (168 meters). Coordinates are 38°14′59″N 86°31′25″W.

As of the 2020 census, 734 people lived there in 384 housing units, for a population density of about 17.3 people per square mile (6.68 per km2). The township’s FIPS code is 18-77210 and the GNIS feature ID is 453911. The Potts Creek Rockshelter is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (since 1987).
