Gary L. Davidson (born August 13, 1934) is an American lawyer and businessman from Orange County, California. He co-founded the World Hockey Association and served as its first president, and he was also president of the American Basketball Association. In addition, he founded the World Football League and was its first president and commissioner. As a young athlete, he was a standout basketball player at Garden Grove High School and attended the University of Redlands. The WHA named an MVP award after him for 1973 and 1974. In 2010, he was inducted into the World Hockey Association Hall of Fame. He is married to Kate Davidson and has two sons, two daughters, and two stepsons.
