Tridens is a genus of freshwater fish found in South America. They are part of the pencil and parasitic catfish family, Trichomycteridae, and the subfamily Tridentinae, also known as pygmy pencil catfishes. Tridens is the type genus of Tridentinae. There are three recognized species in this genus.
