Tony Crudo
Tony Crudo (Anthony John Crudo), born March 25, 1959, in Seattle, is a former American soccer defender who played in the North American Soccer League and earned seven caps for the United States from 1979 to 1982.
As a youth, Crudo played for the Federal Way Boys Club in 1968 and the Lake City Blue Barons in 1969, coached by his father Ray Crudo. He went on to Shorecrest High School in Shoreline, Washington, where he helped win the 1976 state championship.
He turned pro with the Tampa Bay Rowdies in 1977, later joining the California Surf in 1979. He finished his NASL career with the Seattle Sounders in 1981–82, retiring from the league after 1982.
Crudo’s seven national team appearances included his debut on May 2, 1979, in a 6–0 loss to France, a World Cup qualifier against Canada on November 1, 1980, and his last cap on March 21, 1982, in a win over Trinidad and Tobago.
Today he lives in Washington, works as a special education teacher, and coaches soccer at Fife High School and the Girls Sparta 99 program.
