The Garden of Sinners: Future Gospel is a 2013 Japanese animated film by Ufotable, based on Kinoko Nasu’s The Garden of Sinners novels. It’s a sequel to the series and is shown in two parts: Möbius Ring and Möbius Link. Ring takes place in August 1998, while Link occurs in 2010.

In Möbius Ring, Shizune Seo has a “Prediction” gift that lets her foresee the deaths of loved ones, which brings her pain and guilt. Mikiya Kokutou explains that this ability is like an extended form of ordinary prediction. Seo warns Kokutou about trouble involving Shiki. The story also follows Mitsuru Kamekura, who uses “Calculation” precognition: his right eye sees the future and his left eye shows the steps to reach it. He commits bombings to shape the future. When Shiki witnesses one bombing, Mitsuru tries to kill her, but Shiki’s actions change the vision and the bomb goes off five minutes later, allowing authorities to catch him. He is revealed to be 14 years old, and Shiki lets him go after realizing his right eye is no longer useful. Mitsuru quits bombing and goes to college. Ring is the fourth event in the series’ timeline.

In Möbius Link, ten years later, Mitsuru is now debt-ridden and is hired by Shiki, who has become head of the Ryougi family. Mana Ryougi, Shiki and Kokuto’s daughter, likes a children’s book he wrote. Mana’s role helps him avoid a grim fate, and the story leads them to visit the Mother of Mifune, an old street fortune teller who once predicted Shiki and SHIKI’s futures. Link is the tenth event in the timeline.
