The Bravos
The Bravos is a 1972 American Western television film directed by Ted Post and starring George Peppard. The story follows the commander of an isolated frontier cavalry post as he tries to stop an Indian war and locate his kidnapped son.
The project began in 1969 as a potential ABC series. Writer Christopher Knopf was hired to develop The Bravos, with producer David Victor describing it as an "adult Western." Peppard’s casting was announced in 1970, and this was his first TV movie. Filming took place in Arizona and wrapped in January 1971, including work at Fort Delivery near Flagstaff, a fort built for the 1963 film A Distant Trumpet. The film aired on ABC on January 9, 1972, but it was not picked up as a series.
