The Baylor Project

The Baylor Project is a jazz duo from New York City made up of Marcus Baylor and his wife, Jean Baylor. Marcus is from St. Louis, Missouri and used to play drums for The Yellowjackets. Jean was a member of the R&B group Zhané.

They released their first album, The Journey, in 2017 on Be A Light Records. In 2021 they released a second album, Generations, and later that year joined Motown Music Group. The pair have four Grammy nominations: two for Best Jazz Vocal Album (The Journey and Generations) and two for Best Traditional R&B Performance for the songs “Laugh and Move On” and “Sit On Down.” Generations also won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Vocal Jazz Album.
