Iain Weaver is a British boxer born on 17 January 1990 in Ferndown. He fought in the featherweight division (57 kg) as an amateur, boxed for Golden Ring ABC in Southampton, and was part of England’s elite squad and the GB podium squad. He won silver at the 2010 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Moscow and took gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Boxing Championships in New Delhi. Earlier in his career he claimed two junior ABA titles (2007 and 2008) and the 2009 ABA British featherweight title. He represented England at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, reaching the quarterfinals before losing to Akhil Kumar, and was praised by GB head coach Robert McCracken for his potential. He did not get an Olympic qualifier chance for the 2012 London Games and turned professional in May 2012.
