Texas's 4th congressional district

Texas’s 4th congressional district is in Northeast Texas. It runs along the Red River northeast of the Dallas–Fort Worth area and includes some outer eastern suburbs. Austin College in Sherman is located in the district.

- Representative: Pat Fallon, Republican, from Frisco.

- Population and income: About 874,000 people (2024). Median household income around $99,301.

- Demographics: White 59.5%, Hispanic 14.3%, Asian 11.7%, Black 8.8%, two or more races 4.6%, Native American 0.7%, other 0.4%.

- Political lean: Strongly Republican (Cook PVI +16).

- Counties included: Bowie, Collin, Delta, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hopkins, Hunt, Lamar, Rains, Red River, and Rockwall (parts of these counties are in the district).

- Quick history: The district has shifted over time from a Democratic-leaning area to a solidly Republican one, especially after 2003 redistricting. Ralph Hall represented the district from 1981 to 2015, starting as a Democrat and switching to Republican in 2004. John Ratcliffe followed in 2015 and left in 2020 to become Director of National Intelligence. Pat Fallon has held the seat since then. The district has not supported a Democratic presidential candidate since the 1960s.
