Nungdiaw Sakcharuporn
Nungdiaw Sakcharuporn is a retired Thai boxer who once held the WBU light‑flyweight world title in the 1990s. He was born on May 14, 1972, in Ban Dan Makham Tia, Kanchanaburi Province (now part of Dan Makham Tia District). Before boxing, he spent 12 years in Muay Thai under the name Muangkan Buntasuwan.
He started his professional boxing career with a strong run and had nine wins before challenging for the WBF mini-flyweight title against Filipino Ronnie Magramo in Bangkok in early 1995, where he lost by split decision. Later that year, he fought Renardo Benonez for the WBU light-flyweight title at Channel 7 and won.
Sakcharuporn defended the WBU belt three times, including a victory over Puerto Rico’s Josué Camacho. In late 1996, he was defeated by South Africa’s Mzukisi Sikali in Bangkok, ending his reign as champion.
Overall, his pro record is 19 fights, 17 wins (9 by knockout), 2 losses, and no draws. He fought as a southpaw.
