Takarafuji Daisuke, born Daisuke Sugiyama on February 18, 1987, in Nakadomari, Aomori, Japan, is a former Japanese sumo wrestler. He joined sumo in elementary school, studied at Kinki University, and then joined Isegahama stable after graduation. He started his professional career in January 2009 and took the ring name Takarafuji from the start. He quickly moved up the ranks, winning the Sandanme division in 2009 and reaching the top division (makuuchi) in July 2011.

His highest rank was sekiwake, achieved in September 2016. He never missed a bout in his career. Takarafuji spent most of his time as a Maegashira, with a short spell in the Jūryō division in March 2024, after which he returned to Makūuchi. Notable achievements include earning three kinboshi (gold stars) for defeating Yokozuna Kakuryū, Hakuhō, and Kisenosato, and winning a Fighting Spirit prize in 2016. He also defeated Hakuhō on opening day of the September 2016 tournament and later ended Hakuhō’s 33-match winning streak in July 2016.

Takarafuji is known as a yotsu-sumo wrestler, preferring a hidari-yotsu grip (left hand inside, right hand outside). His common winning techniques were yorikiri (frontal force out), oshidashi (frontal push out), and tsukiotoshi (thrust down). He gained the nickname “Matsuko of the sumo world” for his resemblance to the celebrity Matsuko Deluxe.

He married Erino, a former dental assistant, in December 2017. They have two sons, Keinosuke and Rinnosuke, and a daughter, Nana. In September 2025, Takarafuji announced his retirement and planned to stay with the stable as a coach under the elder name Kiriyama. His retirement ceremony is scheduled for May 31, 2026, at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan.
