TV Burp (Australian TV series)
TV Burp is an Australian TV comedy series that aired on the Seven Network from July 23 to September 10, 2009. Hosted by Ed Kavalee, it satirized the week’s television by showing clips from Australian shows with added sketches and voice-over jokes, often taking lines out of context or poking fun at the acting. The show is based on the British program Harry Hill’s TV Burp. The first season had eight 30-minute episodes (including commercials) produced in Melbourne by HSV7. TV Burp lampoons programs from across Australian networks, usually reality, drama, or game shows such as Home and Away and MasterChef Australia. The first episode attracted about 1.0 million viewers, with audience numbers declining in later weeks. A second series did not air in 2010. Related shows include The Soup and Harry Hill’s TV Burp.
