Sylvester is a town in Green County, Wisconsin, United States. It covers 35.9 square miles, all in one piece, and sits about 873 feet above sea level. The population was 809 at the 2000 census, with a population density of about 23 people per square mile.

There were 289 households and 243 families. The average household was about 2.8 people, and the average family was about 3.1 people. The racial makeup was mostly White (about 97%), with small numbers of Asian residents and other races, and a small share of people from two or more races.

Household composition: about 38% had children under 18; around 78% were married couples; about 16% were non-families; and roughly 14% of households were individuals. The median age was 39 years, with about 29.5% under 18 and 11% aged 65 or older.

income: the median household income was about $52,917, and the median family income about $53,828. Males earned about $37,396, females about $23,500, and the per-person income was around $23,871. A small portion of people were below the poverty line (a few percent overall, including about 7.5% of those under 18).
