Superman punch
The Superman punch is a striking move used in many fighting styles, including Sanda, Muay Thai, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, and professional wrestling. The setup looks like a kick: the rear leg steps forward, then snaps back as a cross is thrown, delivering extra power from the forward momentum. In boxing, it’s allowed if done safely and aimed above the belt. It adds speed and force, but is easy to predict, so it isn’t common among top boxers. It’s also known as the Cobra Punch, Jumping Punch, or Diving Punch. In MMA, fighters like Bas Rutten have used it, and a variation can involve pushing off a fence to jump into the punch. In pro wrestling, stars such as Roman Reigns use it as a signature move, and the move was popularized by the fictional Superman in the film Superman Returns.
