1967 European Formula Two Championship

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

1967 was the first FIA European Formula Two Championship. The season ran from 24 March to 8 October and consisted of ten races. Jacky Ickx won the European F2 title, clinching the championship after winning the last race in Vallelunga.

Jochen Rindt was the most successful driver, winning five F2 races, but he was a graded driver and ineligible to score points toward the European Championship, so Ickx still took the title. Other graded drivers, like Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart, also won races but could not earn championship points. There were additional Formula Two races in 1967 that did not count toward the European Championship, and some events were joint F1/F2 races.
