Stygarctus
Stygarctus is a genus of tardigrades, tiny animals known as water bears. It belongs to the family Stygarctidae. The genus was named by Erich Schulz in 1951. The name combines Styx, the mythic river, and arktos, meaning “bear.” Classification: Kingdom Animalia; Phylum Tardigrada; Class Heterotardigrada; Order Arthrotardigrada; Family Stygarctidae.
