Stephen H. Rapp Jr. is an American historian and professor whose research focuses on the Roman Empire, ancient Iran, Armenia, and Georgia. He teaches history at Sam Houston State University. He earned a political science degree from Indiana University Bloomington in 1990, then a master's in history from the University of Michigan in 1992 and a Ph.D. in 1997 from Michigan. He began his teaching career at Georgia State University as an assistant professor in 1998 and became an associate professor there in 2004. He moved to Sam Houston State University in 2012 and was promoted to full professor in 2015. Rapp's books include:
