Sandia District is one of ten districts in Sandia Province, in Peru's Puno Region. Its capital is the town of Sandia. The district covers 580.13 square kilometers and sits at an elevation of 2,178 meters. The population was 12,364 at the 2005 census, with a density of about 21 people per square kilometer. The mayor is Angel Mario Quispe Quispe. The UBIGEO code is 211201. Most residents are indigenous Quechua; about 67% learned Quechua first in childhood, while about 32% learned Spanish first. The district is located around 14°14′S, 69°26′W.
