Step On Out
Step On Out is the eleventh studio album by The Oak Ridge Boys. It was released on March 6, 1985, and runs about 33 minutes. The country album was produced by Ron Chancey for MCA Records and features The Oak Ridge Boys lineup of Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen, William Lee Golden, and Richard Sterban.
The album includes three hit singles: Touch a Hand (Make a Friend) and Little Things both reached number one on the country charts, while Come On In (You Did the Best You Could Do) reached number three. The title track, Step On Out, was co-written by Chris Hillman, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and former member of the Byrds. Billboard praised the songs Ophelia and Little Things, commending Chancey’s production and the harmonies.
Track highlights include Touch a Hand, Ophelia, Little Things, Come On In, and Step On Out. The album reached 156 on the Billboard 200 and number 3 on the Top Country Albums chart; it ranked 17 on Billboard’s year-end country charts.
