The Jubilee Medal "Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945" was created by the Soviet Union on May 7, 1965 to mark the 20th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. About 16,399,550 people received it. It was awarded to all military and civilian personnel of the USSR who took part in the Great Patriotic War, to partisans, and to others who had already received the Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945." The medal was awarded on behalf of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet by unit commanders and various military and government offices.

The medal was worn on the left side of the chest after other USSR orders and medals; if Russian Federation medals were present, those have precedence. It is a 32 mm brass circular medal. On the front is a relief image of a Soviet liberator soldier holding a child, with a sword cutting a swastika, standing over oak branches. The years "1945" and "1965" appear on the left and right. On the back, along the edge, is the inscription "Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945." In the center is a five-pointed star over the Roman numeral "XX" with radiating lines.

The medal is attached to a red silk moiré ribbon, 24 mm wide, with narrow green and black stripes along the right edge. One notable historical note: Nikita Khrushchev once said he was deeply hurt that he did not receive this medal despite being eligible.
