Stellaconus

Stellaconus is a group of sea snails in the cone snail family, Conidae. They are marine gastropod mollusks. The name Stellaconus was introduced by Tucker and Tenorio in 2009. Today, many scientists treat Stellaconus as part of the broader genus Conus, as Conus (Splinoconus) da Motta, 1991, which is itself a synonym of Conus Linnaeus, 1758. So Stellaconus is generally considered a synonym of Conus rather than a separate genus.
