Pan-African Mathematics Olympiads
Pan-African Mathematics Olympiads (PAMO) is Africa’s version of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). It is organized every year by the African Mathematics Union (AMU). The competition is for the best secondary school students who are under 20 years old. PAMO began in 1987. The event has two rounds. Each round has three problems and lasts four hours and thirty minutes. Each problem is worth seven points. A country may send up to six contestants. The goal is to find Africa’s top young math talents.
