Stadionul Farul
Stadionul Gheorghe Hagi, formerly known as Stadionul Farul (and earlier as Stadionul 1 Mai), was a multi-purpose stadium in Constanța, Romania. Opened in 1954, it could seat about 15,520 people and had a grass field measuring 105 by 68 meters. Owned by the Municipality of Constanța, it was mainly used for football and also had track and field facilities. It was the home ground of Farul Constanța for many years (1955–2021), and hosted other teams such as Săgeata Năvodari, Viitorul Constanța, and Farul II Constanța. In 1970 it hosted Romania’s first floodlit football match. The stadium also hosted national team matches during World Cup and Euro qualification campaigns. It closed in 2022 and was demolished in 2023 to make way for a new stadium on the same site.
