David McKenzie (cyclist)
David McKenzie (born 6 August 1974 in Ballarat, Australia) is a former professional road cyclist. He won the Australian national road race title in 1998. His biggest win came on stage 7 of the 2000 Giro d'Italia, where he made a 164-kilometre solo breakaway to win. He also won the Goulburn to Sydney Classic in 2005. McKenzie rode for several teams between 1996 and 2005, including Giant–Australian Institute of Sport, Kross–Montanari–Selle Italia, Linda McCartney Racing Team, Navigators Insurance, and Wismilak International Team. After retiring, he became a cycling journalist and commentator for SBS. He has been involved with the UCI Continental teams Black Spoke Pro Cycling Academy and EuroCyclingTrips - CMI Pro Cycling.
