South Sierra Nevada springsnail
The South Sierra Nevada springsnail (Pyrgulopsis giuliani) is a tiny freshwater snail with an operculum (a small lid). It belongs to the Hydrobiidae family. This snail is found only in the Sierra Nevada region of the United States. It is listed as Vulnerable because its habitat is being lost. The species was described by Hershler and Pratt in 1990.
