South Hutchinson is a small city in Reno County, Kansas, just south of Hutchinson. It was founded and incorporated in 1887. The city covers about 2.9 square miles and sits around 1,529 feet above sea level. The population was 2,521 in 2020.

The city is governed by a mayor and five council members, who meet on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. The current mayor is Dina Brislin. The ZIP code is 67505 and the area code is 620. The local schools are in the Nickerson–South Hutchinson USD 309 district.

South Hutchinson began as a settlement beside Hutchinson and has grown as a southern suburb of the city.
