Siu-Mui Leung
Siu-Mui Leung (梁素梅) was a Hong Kong Chinese actress born in 1932. She died in 1964 at about 31 or 32 years old. She was also known as Leung Siu Mooi or Leung So-Mui. Leung acted in films from 1950 to 1962 and appeared in more than 80 movies.
Her career started in 1950 with A Chivalrous Bandit, a martial arts Cantonese opera directed by Chan Pei. She worked in many genres during the 1950s, including martial arts, drama, and comedy. In martial arts films she appeared in Magic of Tiger Dragon (also known as How Old Master Jiang Crossed the River) and titles like Peach-Blossom Hero Spies on Poisonous Dragon Swamp by Night and Hu Weiqian Smashes the Engine Room (also Wu Wai-kin Smashes the Factory Machines), all from 1950. In drama, she appeared in Wave of Jealousy, How Song Jiang Slew His Mistress Yan Poxi, Devil's Family, and Sad Song of an Orphan Girl (all 1950). In comedy, she acted in The Merry Lovers (1951), Night of Romance (1952), and Wrong Wedding (1954).
Her last film was A Loving Husband for My Lovely Daughter (1962), directed by Fok Yin. Leung is credited with over 80 films; the list above is only a partial selection.
